Abstract

Mathematical critical thinking ability is an essential skill that students must possess in learning, but the facts show that students’ mathematical critical thinking ability remains low, especially in the topic of ratios. This study particularly focuses on developing valid and practical student worksheets (LKPD) using the CTL approach for ratio topics to facilitate students’ mathematical critical thinking ability. This development research uses a 4D model comprising four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. This study involved students from Class VII at SMPN 13 Pekanbaru. The instruments used were a validation sheets and the student response questionnaires. The expert validation yielded an average percentage of 96.15%, indicating a very valid category. Meanwhile, the field test produced an average percentage of 92.59% from student response questionnaires, categorized as very practical. Thus, the student worksheet using the CTL approach to ratios was found to be valid and practical in facilitating mathematical critical thinking ability.
