This study examines the role of the principal as a manager in instilling character education at SD Negeri 01 Doro, Kecamatan Doro, Kabupaten Pekalongan. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach to understand how the principal plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates character education programs. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings show that the principal plays a crucial role in integrating character education into the school's curriculum, daily routines, and extracurricular activities. The planning of character education is thorough and involves collaboration with teachers, students, and parents. The implementation of character programs is successfully carried out, with regular monitoring and evaluation ensuring continuous improvement. The study also identifies challenges such as time constraints and the need for continuous teacher training in character education. Despite these challenges, the principal’s leadership has positively impacted students' behavior, with notable improvements in discipline, cooperation, and academic performance. This study highlights the importance of the principal’s managerial role in fostering character development in schools and underscores the need for ongoing professional development for educators to ensure effective character education implementation.
