Abstract

Advances in digital technology have brought major changes in the learning system, demanding students to have high independent learning abilities and strong self-efficacy to adapt. This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence of self-efficacy (self-efficacy) and digital literacy on the independent learning of students of the Indonesian Maritime Adiguna Polytechnic Medan. The approach used is quantitative, with Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression techniques to test the relationships between variables. The correlation between self-efficacy and digital literacy was classified as very strong (r = 0.929; p < 0.01), while the correlation between self-efficacy and independent learning was weak but significant (r = 0.199 and r = 0.229; p < 0.01). Multiple linear regression tests showed that both variables simultaneously had a significant effect on independent learning (F = 5.216; Sig. = 0.008) with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.536. These results indicate that 53.6% of the variation in self-learning can be explained by self-efficacy and digital literacy. Thus, increasing self-efficacy and digital literacy is an important factor in developing student learning independence in the digital era. The results of the analysis showed that self-efficacy and digital literacy had a positive and significant relationship with independent learning.
